Rated More Difficult to Most Difficult, the 11.4 mile Ben Tyler Trail begins
at an elevation of 8,260' and reaches it's highest point at 11,650'.
Beginning at the North Ben Tyler Trailhead, Ben Tyler Trail climbs steeply

The final section up to the Craig Park Trail junction
is a series of long switchbacks that when traveling east offers views down Ben
Tyler Gulch. After reaching Craig Park Trail (east), the Ben Tyler Trail (west)
continues to climb, crossing Ben Tyler Creek again, to a high saddle above the
treeline. From this point the trail descends to the south into the Rock Creek
drainage.
