Fossil Discovery Trail

Located within Dinosaur National
Monument, the 2.0 mile Fossil Discovery Trail travels through tilted
rock layers which shows a variety of rocks and fossils, and an outcropping
of small pieces of dinosaur bones.
The trailhead for the Easy to Moderate Fossil Discovery Trail is located
at the Temporary Visitor Center.
This trail is actually in Utah, but is being included here because of
it's proximity to Colorado. Dinosaur National Monument is located in Utah
and Colorado. |

| To reach Dinosaur National Monument's
Temporary Visitor Center from Dinosaur Colorado travel west along Highway
40 to Jensen Utah and turn right (north) onto Utah 149 and follow signs.
To reach Dinosaur National Monument's Canyon Area Visitor Center from
Dinosaur Colorado travel east along Highway 40 for 2.0 miles to Harpers
Corner Road. Turn left (north) onto Harpers Corner Road and take the first
right into the parking lot.
