West Ute Creek Trail #825

Rio Grande National Forest

Available to hikers, horseback riders, West Ute Creek Trail is an easy hike through the open grassy parks and meadows along West Ute Creek. Two stream crossings are located along the trail.

Camping areas are easy to find along the trail, especially near West Ute Lake or about 0.5 mile below the lake.

To reach West Ute Creek Trail from Creede Colorado, travel southeast along CO 149 for 20.1 to it's intersection with FR 520 (Rio Grande Reservoir/Upper Rio Grande Road), then about 16.5 miles to Ute Creek Trailhead. Travel along Ute Creek Trail for about 0.25 miles past Black Lake to West Ute Creek Trail.
