Available to hikers, and horseback riders,
Weminuche Trail begins with with a gradual climb away from Thirty Mile
Campground. After 1.5 mile the trail crosses Weminuche Creek Bridge
and makes a short, but steep climb out of the creek bottom. Once out of
the bottom area, Weminuche Trail passes through patches of timber and
several small grassy parks before reach the Weminuche Pass Area. The upper
3 miles of the trail makes a fairly gradual climb to the pass.

Several good camping areas are possible near the
trail after crossing Wiminuche Creek Bridge.
To reach Weminuche Trail from Creede Colorado travel
southwest along CO 149 for 20.1 miles to it's intersection FR 520 (Upper
Rio Grande River Road), then about 10 miles to Thirty Mile Campground.
Weminuche Trail leaves the campground about 100 yards south of the
amphitheater area.
