East Portal Campground

Located near the historic Gunnison River Diversion Tunnel, 2 miles below
Crystal Dam at the bottom of Black Canyon within Curecanti National Recreation
Area, the 15 site East Portal Campground offers water, vault toilets and tables
with fire grates.
Directions:
To reach East Portal Campground travel along CO Highway 347 six miles
north of it's junction with U.S. 59 to the entrance of Black Canyon of the
Gunnison National Park. Turn right just past the entrance station and follow
East Portal Road for 5 miles to the campground. Located immediately east of
the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park boundary, the entrance fee to
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park applies to those accessing East
Portal. |

| Please note that vehicles exceeding
22 feet in length (including trailer) are not permitted on the East Portal
Road because of the steep 16% grade and sharp, narrow curves. |
