Atlanta Single Hikers
Atlanta Single Hikers (ASH) is a group of individuals (18 years
and older) of various backgrounds who share a common interest -
a love of the outdoors in general and hiking in particular.
ASH was started in 1995 and welcomes anyone 18 or older and
unmarried who wants to enjoy the thrill of the outdoors! Most of
the people in the group range in age from the 30's to 50's. We
have lots of day hikes, socials, backpacking and camping trips,
dinners, canoeing, and other events. We have at least one event
every weekend and average two or three events a week (mostly on
the weekend). There is no membership fee; we just pay for costs
we incur, such as gas, parking fees, etc.
Joining ASH is simple - just show up! To go on an activity, just
contact the event leader listed in the weekly email or this site
to RSVP, if requested. Usually, you can just show up and go. To

Georgia Adventurers Group
Between sunsets and sunrises, Nature is a very beautiful place to
explore. Every creature has its habitat, every wind that blows through
the forest has its own path, and every stream delicately follows its
own stream bed. It’s all just like you and I, we all have to find our
own niche in the outdoors.
There are 100’s of trails within the vicinity of the state of Georgia.
And many years before Georgia had roads, it was laced with Indian
paths. There is so much heritage in everything you explore in Georgia,
the lakes, rivers, mountains, cliffs, all have a story to tell.
When the Georgia Adventurers Group take to the trails, we’re on a
mission to explore. We’re not just a club of “trail runners" or
“exercisers," we’re out there to learn too! Want to KNOW what that
flower is? that bug? that tree? that rock? that bird? Bring a Guide
Book and learn with us.

Sierra Club, Cahaba group
We're a Greater Birmingham based environmental and conservation
organization. Our desire is to get people to explore, enjoy and
protect the outdoors and as such we have 2-4 weekend outings
(hiking, kayaking, biking, etc) per month and a general monthly
meeting with a great speaker or interesting DVD or slideshow. We
represent more than a thousand Sierra Club members in Birmingham and
North Central Alabama. The Cahaba Group is a member of both the
Alabama Chapter and the National Sierra Club.
