East
Coast Trail Riders
Our organization was started on October 26, 2004. It
first started with wanting to have a small 4 wheel drive club in the
Eastern SC area. By the end of January 2005 the club had grown to more
than three states and we had realized that the need for a place to
wheel was becoming a more important issue. I know there are great places
to go like Tellico , uwharrie, and Windrock but nowhere close to go
wheeling for the day. We decided the best way to achieve this goal was to
purchase or lease land and build Different types of courses and trails to
fulfill the needs of the offroaders.( Rock Gardens, Washouts, Mud Pits,
Camping areas) Not only could wheelers go and play for the day, clubs
could also use it for meetings and events. After several meetings, BEHOLD,
EAST COAST TRAIL RIDERS was BORN.( February 2005 ). We now have 3 tracts
of land ( 2 in Sc , 1 in TN. ) and have been working on the first 4x4
Playground in eastern Sc. We plan to continue building the playgrounds
throughout SC, NC much more. We are just working to give you guys a place
to play every now and then these organizations work to keep trails for
public use open and that's always worth fighting for.
