Whiskeytown National Recreation Area

The primary recreational opportunities at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area are water based due to the 36 miles of shoreline and 3,200 acres of Whiskeytown Lake. Year round activities include picnicking, hiking, mountain bike riding, horseback riding, trail running, photography, bird watching and wildlife viewing.

Directions:

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area may be reached from Interstate 5, take the Highway 44 West exit toward Downtown Redding and Eureka. From Downtown Redding, follow Highway 299 west toward Eureka California for approximately 8 miles to reach the Visitor Center.
